William E. Backstrom was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 5, 1929 to Elwood and Hildur Backstrom. He was preceded in death by grandson, Amery. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley; children, Cheryl (George) Mills, William J. (Mary) Backstrom; grandchildren, Crystal (Ed), Nicole, Elliot, Megan & Katie; sister, Sharon Larsen; also many nieces & nephews. Memorial service Wednesday July 9, 1 PM with a visitation two hours prior to service at St. Philips Lutheran Church, 6180 Hwy. 65., Fridley. Memorials preferred.
