Wayne Emmanuel Jackson
Wayne Emmanuel Jackson passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, after breathing complications at the early age of 60, surrounded by his family: brother, Kevin Jackson; beloved wife Darlene; mother, Rosemary Jackson; sons, Joshua and Dominique; and daughter, Monique.
Wayne was born October 14, 1959, to Rosemary Jackson and Albert G. Jackson, and was the youngest of three sons; and, yes, he was a mama boy. Wayne devoted his life to Christ at an early age at St. Anseim Catholic Church.
Wayne attended Corliss High School where he excelled in sports leading his school to two championships. His talent for leadership and his prowess on the field had college scouts looking closely at him. He was awarded a football scholarship to Lane University in Jackson, Tennessee. His team building and leadership skills served him well throughout his life and he set a strong example for his children to follow.
Wayne was a diligent and hard worker all of his life from age 16. He began in Chicago working at a fast food restaurant and moving on to the meat packing industry. After ten years, he move to Minnesota where he worked at two major hospitals for 26 years. He was well thought of by his co-workers and managers and his smile and spirit will be greatly missed.
Wayne was preceded in death by : his dad, Albert G. Jackson; his brother, Tyrone Jackson; his son, Wayne E. Jackson; two uncles, Bobby Jordan and favorite uncle, Lamont Jordan.
Wayne left his memory to be carried on by: loving mother, Rosemary; beloved wife, Darlene Brooks-Jackson; brother, Kevin Jackson; four sons: Joshua Brooks, Dominique Lyng, Germane Flemons, and Darnell Lyng; and three daughters, Sharice Field, Monique Lyng and Tangie Brooks; seven grandchildren: Wayne E. Jackson, Jeremiah Brooks, Isis Chisollm'el, Amariyah Ingram, Demarco Jones, Sacerae Flemons, and Gezeriah Flemons; one great-grandchild, Kaleah Jones; two uncles, Victor Jordan-Denise, Vincent Jordan; three aunts, Vivian Tracy-Thomas, Vicki Jordan, Antoinette Jordan; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousin.
Memorial Gathering and Celebration of Life 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19th at Miller Funeral Home.
