Yelle, Wanda Jean, died peacefully in her sleep Aug. 8, 2019 at her residence — the Edgewood Assisted Living and Memory Care Center, Blaine, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tell C. Yelle, parents, Rex and Myra Wiley and brother Rex (William) Wiley. She is survived by sons: Tom (Roxanne), Peter (Jackie), John (DeLaine), Jim (Debbie), Paul (Janet); 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Born March 11, 1929. In Fort Dodge, Iowa, Wanda grew up in Milwaukee, WI, graduated from the University of Wisconsin and spent most of her life raising a family of five sports-oriented boys in Coon Rapids, MN. Yes, for much of her life she was a homemaker, but spent nearly two decades working as a biology lab instructor at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. An avid bicyclist during the non-snow months and a Nordic skier during the winter, Wanda also loved to socialize with family and friends, and served with several community-based organizations in the Coon Rapids area, foremost the Coon Rapids High School Scholarship Association. She was also a longtime member of the Church of St. Timothy, Blaine, MN and its community-based groups. A Funeral Mass is scheduled Friday, Aug. 16, 11 a.m. at St. Timothy's, 797 89th Ave. NE, Blaine, MN 55434. A gathering for family members and Wanda’s friends — to meet and greet and share stories — will take place prior to the service, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to one of Wanda’s favorite places to visit, the Springbrook Nature Center (Fridley, MN), are preferred. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Fridley.
