Walter Chilstrom

Walter L. Chilstrom, age 85, of Spring Lake Park, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2014. Preceded in death by wife, VanDella; siblings, Archie, Jr., Louie, George, Anne. Survived by children, Valerie (Charles) Doman, Charles (Terry) Chilstrom, Penny (Mark) Ott; grandchildren, Krista Bennett, Jennifer Chilstrom, Lee Chilstrom, Katie Jo Ott (John Whalen), Ashley Ott; great grandson, Brody Bennett. A special thank you to longtime family friend, Jean Buytart.
Walter had been a Warehouse Manager at Dayton Hudson for over 5 years. He had also overseen Shipping & Receiving at Gresen Manufacturing and had been Acting Police Chief for Lexington, MN. Walter was an US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was Past Post Commander of Kraus-Hardig VFW in Spring Lake Park.
Memorial Service 1:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 HWY 65 NE, Fridley. Visitation 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Ritual service accorded by Kraus-Hardig VFW.
