Wade "Wabasha" Bjergo

Wade Frederick Bjergo, born on January 18, 1962, passed away on January 25, 2025. He is survived by his mother: Marlys Bjergo; his children: Matthew Bjergo, Justine (Justin) Wewers, and Jessi Jane Bjergo; his beloved grandchildren Kennedy and Charlotte Wewers; and his siblings: Desiree Nelson, Bart (Rami) Bjergo, Suzette (Paul Kottke) Younggren, and Rochelle (Braun) Woods; his nieces and nephews Alisha, Jessica, Benjamin, Don, Joseph, Derek, Kyle, Lindsay, Kaden. He was preceded in death by his father LeRoy Bjergo and brother Ralph Bjergo.

Wade was a gifted artist whose creativity knew no bounds. Whether building, drawing, or carpentry everything he touched became a work of art. A proud member of the White Earth Tribe, Wade deeply cherished his Native heritage and carried it with pride throughout his life. He was a free spirit who found joy in the outdoors, spending time fishing and hunting, and embracing the beauty of nature. Known for his humor and kind heart, Wade brought laughter and warmth to those around him. 

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, February 6th at 1:00 at the Church of Gichitwaa Kateri, 3045 Park Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55407.  There will be a luncheon following the service.
