Virginia May Phillips "Ginny" was born on October 24, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. She was the fifth of six siblings born to Peter and Louise Phillips. Ginny grew up in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. When Ginny was six years old she was crowned Junior Princess of Columbia Heights. While at Columbia Heights Senior High School, Ginny she was a Highland Lassie and graduated in 1969. Ginny and a friend drove up the Alcan highway to pursue a great adventure. Ginny helped build a log cabin on Valdez Bay She went back to Alaska in 1976 with her brother Jim to visit their sister, Cheryl who was working there at the time on the Alaska pipeline. She returned to Alaska many times. She loved her time in Alaska. In 1996, she returned to Minnesota. Since that time, Ginny lived with and cared for her mother working as her PCA. They grew very close and enjoyed their time together immensely. In the past two years, Ginny health began to decline. She always put her mothera�(TM)s care before her own personal needs. Sadly, Ginny lost her battle on October 21, 2010. She will be greatly missed by those who love her deeply. Ginny is survived by her mother, Louise; sister, Joy (Ray) Lund; brother, Jim; special friend, Tom Fox; many nieces & nephews. Memorial service Tuesday, 2:30 PM, with visitation one hour prior at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, North Branch.
