Vernon 'DeWayne' Barkela

Vernon 'DeWayne' Barkela, age 81, of Coon Rapids, MN and formerly of Mesa, AZ, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16th, 2023. DeWayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend; he will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; his son, Michael; and his daughter-in-law, Diane.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Dennis Dahlblom); his granddaughter, Allison (Anthony Dallman); his great-grandchildren, Eli, Abigail and Erin; and many other loving family and friends.

A memorial service to remember DeWayne will be held at 11:00 am on February 3rd, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Lunch will be served after the service.
