Verda Louise Lauterbach, 84, of Mounds View, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home. She was born on January 25, 1932 in Colby Kansas to Henry and Neva (Nixon) Trybom.
She is survived by her sons, Michael, Patrick, Stephen (Connie); grandchildren, Melissa (Rich) Barrett, Linda (partner, Chris Olson) Lauterbach, Tasha (Jeremy) Lindsey, Mira Lauterbach; great-grandchildren, Peter, Nora, Arla, Luke; siblings, Ronnie Trybom, Ellen Trybom, Lily Thieler. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 1975.
Verda loved to spend time with her family, was a voracious reader of murder mysteries, especially enjoyed an Eddie's Extra Special at Broadway Pizza, listening to Judge Judy at maximum volume, while smoking a cigarette, listening to talk radio, and filling in crossword puzzles at breakneck speed. She was the ultimate multi-tasker.
She loved making barbeque ribs and reuben sandwiches for her boys and often said, "If the dog won't eat it, I can always feed it to the kids!"
Verda will be laid to rest on Thursday, May 12 at 10:35 a.m. at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
