Tweed Browne

Tweed Ann Finlayson went home to be with the Lord on June 11th, 2023. She was 74 years old. She and her husband, Lane Browne, resided in their home in Somerset, Wisconsin. She battled breast cancer like the warrior she was for 7 years.

Tweed Ann Finlayson was born to Donald Finlayson and Virginia (Guy) Finlayson in St. Paul at United Hospital on June 2nd, 1949.

Tweed spent her youth in Shoreview, Minnesota graduated from Mounds View High School in 1967. After high school she attended the U of M then graduated at Anoka-Ramsey Community College with a Nursing of Science Degree which led to her career as a Registered Nurse. Tweed spent a majority of her working career helping those in need at Ramsey (now Regions) Hospital in St. Paul, MN until 1991. At the end of her career, she dedicated her time to Windy Acres Long Term Care facility.

As a child she loved to run in the woods at the family cabin with her cousins. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the school choir. She also loved to play the clarinet. She had her competitive side whether it be playing softball, bowling, golfing, or playing board games. Tweed also enjoyed her time in the 4H where she won awards in sewing. Tweed was a lifelong dog lover, most recently cherishing her time with Mindy.

Tweed was not just a healthcare worker, she was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She is survived by her children Cameron (wife Roberta), Rachel (husband Nick), and Joshua (wife Dana). Along with her grandchildren Connor, Tyler, Ella, Finley and Audrey. Also, survived by her sister Heather (husband Gene) Lyle and their children Dean (wife Sarah), Collin, and Carey.

As important as her family life was to her, she had the love of many friends. She was a part of the Red Hat Friend group. Tweed looked forward to her annual vacations all over the United States with her adventurous friends. She was a dedicated member of her church and bible study groups. Tweed was a loving woman with a strong Christian faith. We rest in the comfort that she is at peace in Heaven, and we will see her again.

Funeral Service on Saturday June 17th, 2023, at Woodcrest Baptist Church 6875 University Avenue Fridley, MN 55432 at 11 am. (763)571-6409. Visitation starting at 10 am. Lunch to follow service at the church. Private interment in Cornell Wisconsin. In honor of Tweed's favorite color, please wear hints of yellow.
