Walczak, Thomas "Tim"

Age 84, was born April 17th, 1937. Tim passed away peacefully in his sleep the evening of March 9th, 2022. He battled Alzheimer’s until his brothers Hubert and Lawrence that preceded him with the same disease, called for him to come home with them. Also preceded in death by his mother, Louise (Zeland) and father, Hubert. Survived by loving wife of 59 years, Bernice. Adored father of Jerry and John (Roxanne); beloved grandfather of Daniel Walczak. Tim is also survived by his youngest brother, Michael as well as many other relatives and friends. Tim enjoyed hunting with his brothers as a youth and shared that passion with his sons. Tim was a mechanical engineer and spent most of his career employed at Medtronic. Tim loved to tinker in the garage and could fix darn near anything. Tim had many cherished friends through St William’s Church and enjoyed spending time with them. Tim’s biggest passion after family and friends was muscle cars. Tim had owned his prized 1962 Impala SS 409 that he bought brand new in 1962 until just a couple years ago. Tim’s sons will carry on that passion to be sure. Tim truly was the kindest husband and dad. His natural demeanor was to always greet folks with a gentle smile and leave them feeling better. Tim’s devotion to his wife, sons, grandson, and faith in the Lord set a high bar for all to strive for. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the medical professionals and the exceptional caregivers at Brightondale Assisted Living in New Brighton. They truly made Tim comfortable in his final months. A visitation will be at Church of Saint William (6120 5th St NE, Fridley, MN 55432) on Friday, March 18th at 10:00am, followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am and a luncheon at Noon.
