Stephen Allen Trafton passed away suddenly on August 4th, 2021 at the age of 70, and left us way too soon. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 36 years. Preceded in death by parents Harold and Rita; brothers Harold, Marvin, Mark, sisters Rita and Nanette. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Anna (Brendon); sons Reed (Karen), Ross; 6 grandchildren (Brooke, Bella, Jackson, Maximus, Xander and Lennan). He had fun nicknames like Party Steve, Stepdad Milk Carton, Kermit (Kermie) and Cookie Monster.
Born in Minneapolis, Steve went to Sacred Heart and Benilde Catholic schools. He also served our country in the Air Force. His greatest passion in life was his family, making memories with his wife, children and grandchildren. He always had a passion for martial arts, especially Judo even to date. He was an avid gardener in his free time while retired and loved researching and watching birds. But most of all he loved chasing his grandkids around the park or yard.
Steve met the love of his life, Nancy, while on a blind date that was setup by a mutual friend. Their first real date was at the lake – and how ironic since Steve loved to be on the lake and surrounded by nature. They dated for a month before he went in the Air Force, and 15 years later they reconnected for good. They spent the last several retired years together laughing, goofing around, and enjoying each other’s companionship. He will be so greatly missed by so many, and we cannot wait to see him again on the other side.
Celebration of life will be held on Friday August 13, at 11AM with visitation beginning at 10AM at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Highway 65 NE, Fridley, MN.
