Sworsky, Selina "Lee" (Eccles)
93, passed away peacefully on Thurs., Dec. 3, 2015. Born March 24, 1922, in Yorkshire, England, and longtime resident of Fridley MN. Lee was the youngest of three girls and was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and Edmond, her loving husband of 69 years. She proudly served in the British Women's Auxiliary Air Force during WWII. Lee and Ed met in England and married there in 1945. She loved socializing and especially cherished her friends in her English Club and the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association. She also enjoyed volunteering, spending winters in Florida, playing cards, and especially remembers fondly her time working at Hans' Bakery. Lee and Ed were especially proud to be featured in "The Greatest Generation" exhibit currently running at the Minnesota History Center. She will be deeply missed by sons Edmond "Tony" (Helen) of Rogers MN, Francis "Terry" (Leslie) of St. Francis MN, and Timothy (Meg) of Duluth MN; grandchildren Dawn, Stephanie, Steven, Brian, and Tyler; and great grandchildren Brandon, Carl, Ashley, Desmon, Braylon, Anika, and Camden; and great-great grandson Dominic. The family would like to thank the staff at River Oaks Assisted Living in Anoka MN for the wonderful care she received the past four years and Allina Hospice Care for comforting her on the final part of her journey these last few months. Funeral service Mon., Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at The Church of St. William, 6120 5th St NE, Fridley with visitation 1 hour prior. Reception will follow.
