Ruth Meuwissen

Ruth Meuwissen of New Brighton passed away peacefully on July 2nd.  She was quick to support those in need and had a long career as a Registered Nurse while working at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. Ruth was a passionate reader and loved trivia, puzzles and board games.  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.  Ruth is survived by her children; Paul (Kimberly), David (Janice), Mark (Karen), and Daniel (Sue). She had 10 wonderful grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Lynn (Adam with Mila and Nora), Jenny, Nikki (Kevin with Conrad), Alex (Kyle), Amy, Beth, Jacob, Ryan, Matthew and Mari (Duncan). She is also survived by her sister Lucy. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Marcus. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 10th, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; 835 2nd Ave. NW, New Brighton, MN. Masks are required and social distancing practices will be in place. Visitation will be held on Thursday July  9th, from 5-7 pm at Millers on University Funeral Home, 7398 University Ave. NE, Fridley MN 55432.  Masks are not required but appreciated.  Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
