Russell Carlton Hendrick peacefully passed away on Dec 23, 2019, in his home in Fridley. He was 90 years old. Russ is predeceased by his son, Jim; grandson, Ben; and his big sister, Cathy.
Russ is survived by his wife, Delores of 68 years. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Carol; his children, Terry (Todd), Steve (Sue) and Jeff; 10 grandchildren; and his 4 great-grandchildren.
Russ was born in Milbank, SD on April 11, 1929, to his parents Mary and Lewis Hendrick. He graduated from Milbank High School and then went on to earn a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines, and a Masters degree from the University of Minnesota. Russ worked for Honeywell as an Engineer for 33 years. In 1985 he earned the Sweatt Award, for leading the design and implementation of a flight control system for an advanced attack helicopter.
The memorial service will be held at Fridley United Methodist Church, 680 Mississippi St NE, Fridley, on Sat, Jan 11, 2020. Visitation at 10AM with service at 11AM . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fridley United Methodist Church, or a charity of your choice.
