Rueben Nordin

Rueben "Bud" Nordin, age 85 of Fridley, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 surrounded by his family at his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 9th at St Philips Lutheran Church in Fridley. Please call for time. Visitation will be from 4-7 Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, as well as one hour prior to the service at church.
Rueben was born on June 29, 1928 in Willmar, MN. He was the son of Henry and Marie Nordin and was the 11th of 12 children. On October 24, 1953 he was united in marriage to Donna Hendrickson. Together they had 3 children. He spent his days working as a truck driver before his retirement in June of 1990.
Rueben was a member of St Philips Lutheran Church where he enjoyed ushering and donating his time. He liked fishing, hunting, wood working, yard work, coffee with friends and neighbors, and bird watching. He loved his family and his grandkids were the apple of his eye. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Nordin; children, Allan Nordin, Nancy (Paul) Buerkle and Greg Nordin; grandchildren, Danielle Nordin, Matthew (Lauren) Buerkle and Andrea Buerkle; sister, Fern (Stuart) Johnson of New London; and other loving relatives and friends.
Rueben was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; and 6 sisters.
