Rosemary Casserly

Rosemary Elizabeth Casserly, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2020 in New Brighton, Minnesota. She was born September 12, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN to Lawrence Valerius and Rose Elizabeth Valerius (nee Witzman); the oldest of six children.

Rosemary met her husband, John Edward Casserly, through a mutual friend. She and John were married on June 7, 1958. Rosemary was a devout Catholic and a dedicated wife and mother.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years John Edward Casserly, her parents and brothers Herbert and Michael.  Survived by her seven children, Colleen Fickel (Dennis), Mary Dorta (Robert), Gregory Casserly, Deborah Casserly, Patricia Murawski (Roy), Darlene Casserly and Dianne Seguin (Todd); her seven grandchildren, Kristen Casserly, Dustin Fickel, Aleece Hobson, Natalie Weekes, Amanda Dorta, David Casserly and Derek Murawski-Harguth; nine great grandchildren; and siblings, Richard Valerius (Sharon), Alfred Valerius (Karen), and Kathleen Leavitt (Paul).

The family would like to give a special thanks to The Landmark of Fridley, where she was a resident since March 2013. They provided Rosemary with exceptional care, in a kind and loving environment. Her family will be forever grateful for staff's dedication to her daily care and know that she will be deeply missed.

Visitation Thursday - September 10th, 2020 from 5-8 PM with vigil prayers at 7:30 PM at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy. 65 NE, Fridley (763) 571-1300

Mass of Christian Burial Friday - September 11th, 2020 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior all at St. William's Catholic Church, 6120 - 5th St. NE, Fridley.

Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Mpls. MN.
