Zeller, Roland I., age 97 of Fridley, passed away on April 27, 2021 at White Pine Assisted Living in Fridley. Roland “Rollie” was born in Cedar, MN on October 18, 1923. He graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1941 and was drafted into the Navy in 1943. In February 1944 he married his high school sweetheart, Edna Blakstad. Roland and Edna raised 2 children, Michael and Bonnie, in their Fridley home of 57 years. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2013. Both Roland and Edna had great faith in God and were devoted members of St Philips Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Roland was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edna Zeller; parents, Kenneth & Edna Zeller; son, Michael (Diane) Zeller; grandson, Sean Pettipiece; brother, Bill Zeller; and sisters, Adrienne Nodlund and Arlene Fredrickson. Roland is survived by daughter, Bonnie Jean (Terry) Pettipiece; grandsons, Dana (Jamee) Pettipiece and Keith (Raeanne) Stark; great grandchildren, Alex Stark (26), Ashley Pettipiece (24), Nathan Stark (23), Zachary Pettipiece (21), Riley Pettipiece (19) and Turner Pettipiece (10); great great grandchild, Daniel Reza (3); many close nieces and nephews; and friends from White Pine Assisted Living and St Philips Lutheran Church. Roland will be so deeply missed as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and uncle.
Memorial service on Thursday, May 6th at 12PM at St Philips Lutheran Church, 6180 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley. Visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be a private service at a later date at Berne Cemetery in West Concord, MN.
