Roger Kvitrud

Roger died peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017 surrounded by his beloved wife, Phyllis and son, Michael. He was born on June 15, 1927 in Minneapolis to Robert and Carrie (Herdahl) Kvitrud. Roger attended Minneapolis Public Schools. He joined the Navy after high school and served three years aboard a ship in the Pacific during World War II. Upon returning home from the war, Roger went to work at International Harvester in Chicago and later for Pillsbury in Minneapolis as a computer programmer and analyst. Roger loved to fish and spent many relaxing days making memories with his family on his favorite lake, Kabetogama. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carrie; brothers, Lawrence, Lowell and Robert; sister, Muriel (Ray) Ondov. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Bremseth); son, Michael (Tricia) of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Margaret and Thomas; and very special nieces and nephews and their spouses. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Atonement Lutheran Church, 1980 Silver Lake Rd NW, New Brighton with visitation starting at 10 AM.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Atonement Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
