age 78 of Blaine, died of complications from myelodysplasia, a consequence of chemotherapy and radiation treatment for squamous cell carcinoma in 1999. He is preceded in death by his brother Bill Nollet. He was survived by his wife Mavis, sons Scott Nollet of Fort Worth, Texas and Steven (Cara) Nollet of Blaine, brothers Jerry Nollet and Tom (Nancy) Nollet, granddaughters Grace Nollet and Jenna Rivera and several nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Poplar, Wisconsin on Sept. 16, 1933. He graduated from high school in 1952 and went on to the University of WI, Superior for two years, where he boxed and played football. He then served in the navy for three years in Pensacola, Corpus Cristi and Fort Ord; there he learned to fly airplanes, which became a life-long hobby. He returned to college, finishing his mathematics degree in 1959. In the early 60s he did survey work in Babbitt and Ely, Minnesota. He married Mavis Pedersen in 1961 and moved to Minneapolis to start a family. After running a gas station and working as a realtor, he joined the MN Dept. of Transportation where he worked as a computer programmer for 27 years before retiring in 1992. During that time he bought and managed several rental properties, which he maintained in the evenings and on weekends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8, at 11 am with visitaion one hour prior at the Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy. 65, Fridley, MN 55432.
