Robert Knobel

Knobel, Robert P. (Bob)

Age 95, of Mounds View, joined his Heavenly Father on October 25, 2018.

Preceded in death by parents and one brother. Bob worked 14 years as an engineer at WCCO-TV and 22 years as a field service engineer for 3M Company. Served in the Army Air Force in WWII from 1942-1945 as a top turret engineer on a B-17 Flying Fortress. His plane was shot down on his 10th mission and he served the last 11 months in a German POW camp.

Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather-his spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.

Survived by his wife of 73 years, Jeanette; sons Jim and Bill; grandchildren Shannon Knobel Halikas, Eric (Lyndsay) Knobel and A.J. Knobel; twin great-grandchildren, Iris and Francis Knobel.

Funeral service Thursday November 1, 12:00 PM, at Sunrise United Methodist Church, 7687 Long Lake Road, Mounds View, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Sunrise UMC or the donor’s favorite charity.
