Robert Donald Karrow, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on April 3, 2024. Born on August 22, 1945, Robert lived a remarkable life filled with diverse experiences and cherished memories.
Robert was the proud owner of both the “Fresh Squeeze” and the “Tao,” health food store in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In his early years, Robert worked as a taxi driver and later became a licensed plumber. His passion for remodeling homes shone through in the many houses he bought and revamped, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful tiling work and artistic ideas that are admired to this day.
Robert's love for animals was evident to all who knew him. From Main Coon cats like Bullet and Bear to exotic pets like monkeys, toucans, and even a wolf, his compassion for all creatures was boundless.
Described as a loyal and generous friend, Robert held a special place in the hearts of many. He was known as a devoted father to his daughter Katelyn and an exceptional husband to his wife Cheri. His endearing presence as a "Papa" brought joy to his family.
Robert will be deeply missed by his surviving family, including his wife Cheri; daughter Katelyn; soon-to-be son-in-law Russell Melby; son-and-daughter in-law Chad and Michelle Thompson; grandchildren Chad (CJ), Caleb, Cavin, and Carmyn Thompson; cousin Russell Anderson; cousin Cheryl Daniels; cousins Jeff and Tami Haight; cousins Kristi and Ron Lindenberg. Cheri’s sisters and brothers; Lori Mevissen, Michelle & Leigh Erickson, Lynnette & Jeff Neubauer, Steve & Denise Libor, Kathy & Tom Vaudrin, Melissa Hagman, Joseph & Nanci Libor; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as countless friends who held a special place in his heart.
Robert was predeceased by Henry Anderson (Grandfather), Ida Anderson (Grandmother), Herman Karrow (Father), Doris (Anderson) Karrow (Mother), Richard Karrow (Brother), Ronald Karrow (Brother), Earl Anderson (Cousin), Joyce Haight (Aunt), Denny Daniels (Cousin), Russell Anderson (Uncle), Beatrice Anderson (Aunt), Jackie Anderson (Cousin).
On April 18, 2024, friends and family will gather at the Church of St. Paul in Ham Lake to pay their respects during the visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass will follow at 11:00 AM followed by a light lunch starting at 12:00 PM in honor of Robert's life.
Robert Donald Karrow's legacy of love for family, friends, animals, and craftsmanship will forever be remembered with fondness and respect by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
