Dick was raised by his mother. Neighbors with a son would take him camping. He was in Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout badge. His greatest memories were spending summers in ND with his two uncles tending hay fields where he also had male cousins to socialize with. Never having had a girlfriend, he met Pat and told his entire life’s story. He must have known she was his true love. He earned a Master’s Degree in social work from TN. He had four children, fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He looked forward to Christmas where he would get private concerts from his grandchildren. He enjoyed refinishing walnut wood furniture for others without charging, going to auctions, watching old Westerns, and reading daily devotionals. Towards his last week he was talking to God letting him know he was ready to go and looking forward to seeing his mother, family, and friends.
