Dick (Richard) Patrick Walbridge was born September 14, 1960 to Donald and Betty (Jennison) Walbridge in St. Paul Minnesota. He grew up in Moundsview, MN where he attended Moundview schools, and then graduated from Elk River High School, after moving to Zimmerman, MN with family.
After attending college for a brief period, Dick began his beloved career in the cement business and soon opened his own construction company, Walbridge Construction. Dick was an extremely hard worker, excelled in his business and became well known for the quality of his craftsmanship. Dick was especially adept as a bobcat operator. There are many stories of his hair-raising feats. Dick and Mark (brother), his closest friend, also were joint operators of a snow plowing business. During his career he met many co-workers and customers whom became life-long friends.
"Colorful", best describes Dicka(TM)s life and is surely how he would like to be best remembered. He lived it to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of it. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially enjoyed socializing with friends and family. He spent idle moments working around his home, nestled amongst the trees and countryside, near Zimmerman. He lived with his girlfriend Donna Smith and his dog Babes. Dick and Donna have been friends for many years and recently committed themselves to a life-long relationship. Dick often expressed his extreme happiness to his family and friends.
Everyone who came in contact with Dick revered and came to love him. He was a big hearted person and made everyone feel welcome into his life. Again, as he enjoyed life himself, he wanted everyone else to do the same.
Dick is survived by brothers: Tim (Barb), Don, Jeff, Corry (Carrie), and Mark (Lucy) and nephew and nieces, Cortney, Don, Joe, Tina, Mike, Adam, Ben, Sara, and Toni and great nephew and nieces: Jade, Austin, Alexis, Allison, Elly, Chloe, and Bret.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Brad, and other close family members and friends.
Dicka(TM)s presence will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
