Richard "Dick" Lindquist was called home to be with his Lord on Monday, April 30. He was born in Blaine Township on March 17, 1925 and was baptized and later confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
He is preceded in death by an infant daughter; parents, Gus and Gertrude; brothers, Walter and Frank; sisters, Ruth and Elvera. He will be deeply missed by loving wife of sixty-two years, Jeanette; sons, Kevin, Timothy (Aurea), Todd (Debbie); grandchildren, Richard, Abby, Alyssa, Amanda; sister, Alice Olmstead; brother, Norman (Joyce) Lindquist; brother-in-law, Charles (Margreth) Koehler; and nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a loving husband and father.
After graduating from Anoka High School, Richard served in the South Pacific during WWII with the US Army. In 2016, along with his brother Frank, he went on an Honor Flight to Washington DC.
Afterwards, he worked over forty years at Hauenstein & Burmeister elevator company in Minneapolis. He loved traveling with his family, hunting and fishing; whether it be giant northerns and lake trout in Canada or sunfish on Medicine Lake. Richard and his family also enjoyed lake vacations with their friends; Wally and Gloria Johnson, and their family.
He served many years on the Redeemer Church board and after he retired, volunteered at the church using his knack for fixing anything that needed to be fixed. He and Jeanette also served on the Redeemer Mission Committee.
Memorials preferred to either Redeemer Missions Fund or Honor Flights-Twin Cities.
