Richard Ellsworth "Andy" Anundson

Richard was born on July 22, 1937 in Ferryville, WI to Vernon and Selma Anundson. Richard graduated from Desoto High School in 1955, where he met the love of his life, Margaret, and future wife of 64 years. Upon graduating from high school, he joined the Navy and served as an aircraft mechanic until 1957. Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, Richard and Margaret married in 1959, welcomed their daughter in 1962 (Mary Kay), and attended the University of Wisconsin earning a Bachelor’s Degree in 1963.

After graduation Richard began his career at Gateway Transportation which resulted in Richard/Margaret moving many times throughout the Midwest. During that time, they welcomed two more children, Kevin (1964) and David (1969). Following his work with Gateway, Richard became a co-owner of an adjustable bed store until his retirement in 2001.

Richard was an honorable and loyal husband, father and faithful servant of the Lord. He enjoyed ushering at his church, keeping the family farm and household in working order through creative engineering, artistic creations, and socializing with his sisters, in-laws, church family, grandchildren, and many others.

Richard was one of the good guys of this world. His presence was loved and his absence will be prominent. He had (has) a kind, gentle soul.

Richard is preceded in death by parents Vernon and Selma, Ferryville, WI, brother Earl, Ferryville, WI, and sister Helen Jungck, Peoria, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, Fridley, MN, sister, Lois Harmon, Chicago, IL, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kay and Jerry Herman, Fridley, MN, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Ann Anundson, Muskego, WI, and son and daughter-in-law, David and Maria Anundson, Chanhassen, MN. He is also survived by eight of his biggest fans and adoring grandchildren Zachary, Alexa, Sarah, Nicholas, Michael, Cameron, Macie and Grant.

A visitation will be held on Friday, 7/7/2023, from 10-11am, followed by a memorial service from 11am-12pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 61 Mississippi St NE, Fridley, MN 55432.

An internment will take place on Saturday, 7/8/2023 at Freeman Lutheran Church in Ferryville, WI at 2pm.
