Rev. John Drier

April 18, 1941 — April 14, 2012

Drier, Rev. John L. "Pastor Jack" age 70, of New Brighton. Died April 14th after a 4 month battle with brain cancer, surrounded by his loving family and pastor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillian Drier; sister, Joan; niece, Heidi Drier; and nephew, Kai Drier. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Arlene; children, Eric, Jenifer, and Amy; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Gillian Drier and Sheridan and Zachary Moore; his brother, Dr. James Drier; niece, Alice Jelich; nephews, Nick (Deb) Jelich, and Colin (Lisa) Drier.

Jack was born and raised in West Allis, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in Secondary Education. He taught social studies and coached baseball and football at Cudahy High School in Wisconsin. He attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN and was ordained on December 8th, 1968 serving at: Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Lyndale in Minneapolis; University Lutheran Church of Hope in Dinky Town, Atonement Lutheran Church in New Brighton, and Saint Lukes Lutheran Church in Highland Park.

A memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 28th at Atonement Lutheran Church, 1980 Silver Lake Road, New Brighton, MN. Gathering will begin at 10am - Service at 11am with a luncheon to follow.
Memorials preferred to be given to the youth programs of the four churches that he served.
