Early Wednesday November 5th, Ray peacefully lost his year and a half long battle to cancer at Mercy hospital.

Raymond Christenson was born in Benson Minnesota on December 24th 1943. Ray was the 1st of 8 children from Wilma and Selmer Christenson.

Ray dedicated his life to helping others. Being the 1st born of 8 children Ray was called upon by his parents to help raise his brothers and sisters. Dean, Karen, Marilyn, Kenneth, Annette, Janelle, and Sheldon. Graduating high school in 1961, Ray continued his life of service by joining the United States Air Force a week later. Ray served 4 years as Military Police being stationed in Puerto Rico and Montana. After being Honorably discharged from the Air Force in 06/04/1967, Ray quickly became a sworn in peace officer for Spring Lake Park Police Department where he continued to help and serve his community for 29 humble years. Ray took pride in patrolling the community and making Spring Lake Park a safe place for children to play. Raymond was a loving husband to his wife Collette Christenson, dedicated father to Dori, Lisa, and Robert, and a devoted Papa to Isabella and Jordan.

Preceded in death by parents, Wilma and Selmer; daughter, Ashley
Memorial Service will be Saturday, 8th at 6 pm Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley. Visitation 1 hour prior.
