Orville Ingeman Teigen passed away peacefully on April 7, 2011 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Orville Ingeman Teigen was born in Mondovi, Wisconsin on January 21, 1923 to Martin and Tilda (Quall) Teigen. On his 20th birthday he left his family to serve in the United States Army. When he returned from World War II, he met the love of his life, Helen Hentschel. The couple married and made their home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and had 3 daughters, Bonnie, Mary and Debra.
In 1962 the Teigen family re-located to Mounds View, Minnesota where Orville worked for Honeywell until his retirement. He enjoyed being with family and friends, traveling, fishing, gardening, going to the casinos, bird watching, playing cards, watching his grandkids play sports and the Annual Wisconsin Lutefisk Dinner.
Orville lived life to the fullest, always making family and friends his #1 priority. The stories that he shared with all of us will leave everlasting memories.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen & son-in-law David Swenson. Survived by children Bonnie Ekeroth, Mary Swenson & Debra (Keith) Henifin; grandchildren David Ekeroth Jr, Jeffrey (Becky) Swenson, Heidi (Gary) Osendorf, Robert Henifin, Candace (Dave) Flom & Mollie Henifin; great grandchildren David, Trista, Leah, Samantha, Alixandra & Nolan; siblings Alvina Nelson, Gaylen Teigen, Pearline Garnet & Loretta Gibson. Many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service 11am Monday in the Messiah Lutheran Church, 2848 County Road H2, Mounds View. Visitation from 4-7 pm Sunday in the Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minneapolis.
