Nancy Joan Jorgensen, born on July 8, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at Mercy Hospital. She was a beloved member of her community and cherished by her family and friends.
Nancy was devoted to her family and took immense pride in her children, Cheryl Salamanca and Jeffrey Jorgensen, her grandchildren, Nicholss (Sarah), Cristina, and Michael (Shauna) Salamanca, and her great-grandchildren, Emilio and Elena Salamanca. Her home was a reflection of her creativity and spirit, with Nancy often stating that her proudest accomplishments included her home decorating and the love and guidance she provided to her family.
She is survived by her sister, Bonita Darula, and sister-in-law, Mary Jane, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched over the years. Her joy for life was evident in her diverse interests such as watching musicals, movies, attending concerts and plays, savoring meals at good restaurants, and keeping her home immaculate.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wallace Jorgensen. She was also the daughter of Robert R. Broms and Myrtle Broms, and her legacy carries on beyond her immediate family. She was preceded by her siblings and in-laws, including her sister, Patricia Broms, brother, Robert "Bobby" Broms, sister-in-law Marilyn Brackeen, and brother-in-law James Jorgensen, as well as her fathers-in-law, Thomas Jorgensen and mother-in-law, Florence Jorgensen.
Services to honor Nancy Joan Jorgensen will be held at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory in Fridley, Minnesota. Visitation will take place on February 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM, and an additional visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM. The graveside service will be held later that day at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, starting at 1:45 PM.
Nancy's warmth, kindness, and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
