Yurkew, Myron P. age 85, passed away peacefully at home on February 5th, 2013, surrounded by his family. Myron was born March 17, 1927 in Minneapolis to Steve and Katherine Yurkew. His parents and all of his siblings, Tony, Sue, Julie, Stella, and John preceded him in death. Myron was a lifelong resident of Minneapolis, spending the last 54 years in Columbia Heights with Judie, his wife of 55 years. Myron was a successful businessman, founding a construction company in 1967, which he ran until he retired in 1983. He was a talented musician, playing several instruments, including the trumpet and saxophone and he was a skilled carpenter, spending many hours building and maintaining a lake home in Aitkin, Minnesota. Myron is survived by his wife, Judie; and daughters, Susan Yurkew (James Quail), Linda (Bob) Seibel and Tracy (Jon) Durand; and his four grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Austin (23), Carley (18), Sam (12), and Natalia (9). A celebration of Myron's life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11 AM at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 NE Hwy 65, Fridley, with a visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
