Milton Johnson was born on November 20, 1992 in Chicago to Angela Ruth Sledge Johnson and Mark Anthony Johnson. Milton's formative years were spent in Chicago going to Madison Elementary School where he was raised by his grandmother. In February of 2000, Milton moved with his family to Minnesota where he would call that home until his homecoming. Milton attended Bren Road Career Academy and graduated from Armstrong High School where he was fascinated with Astronomy. Through his short time here with us, Milton faced many struggles that he overcame with strength, for his as well as his family. Milton did very little complaining and you would never know if he was having a bad day. Milton was loved for his his smile, being a jokester, and his good nature. There was nothing Milton wouldn't give you if he had it even if he had to sacrifice himself.
Milton was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ruth "Bobbie" Sledge and Robert "Bob" Sledge, his paternal grandparents, Ethel and William Johnson, his aunt, Toudora Sledge, uncle, Jimmy Johnson, and special friend, "Chicken Wang." Milton is survived by his parents, Angela Sledge Johnson (Jerome Burkhart) and Mark Johnson (Kim), daughter, A'mariye Johnson and her mother, Ariana Bowling, Milton's girlfriend, Mary Peterson, brothers, Kristopher Griffin (Jessie), Mark Johnson, Marcus Johnson, sister, Angela marquette and Anyaha and Collete Johnson, nephew, Taven Washington, aunts, Mary Ann, Dora, Rose, Ruby, Fannie, Teresa, Dunnl, uncles, Joe, Willie, Derrick and Mark Sledge. Milton's best friends, Mike, Zoe, Angel and the whole Ficken family. Special friends, Eddie, Tyrone, MeMe and a host of other friends and family.
Everyone that Milton came in contact with has a special memory of him. He made everyone laugh, he was a special young man whose life was taken far too soon, but will forever be remembered as "Millie", "Milk Man", and most of all, My Son. To know Milton was to love him. We are all that much better for having him in our life for as long as we have. Milton would tell us all not to cry but celebrate him and his life forever.
