Michael Tresler

Michael "Spike" Tresler, 58, of Circle Pines passed away peacefully at home on May 26th. He is survived by mother, June; father, Dale; sisters, Carmen (Bill) Barrett, Penny Blaeser; nephews, Ross (Beth) Barrett, Aaron (Anne) Barrett; niece, Jill Blaeser; great nephews, Gaige and Gavin, and many wonderful friends.

Mike was fortunate enough to only be preceded in death by his beloved feline friend, Dominos, who we know was waiting to snuggle up to him on Tuesday morning. Mike graduated from Centennial High School (Circle Pines) in 1975. He briefly attended the University of Minnesota before working in security, driving armored trucks, and being a proud member of the National Guard and Maplewood Police Reserves. Mike was a bit of a nerd at heart, with a passion for all things Star Trek, comic books, and SciFi channel. Mike was also a talented artist, though he rarely showed off his gifts. Mike was always at home in the water, taking several snorkeling trips to the Caribbean, installing a pool in his back yard, and spending many summers at the family cabin, Red's Lure, floating in the lake surrounded by his family. He had an on-going, passionate love-hate relationship with the Minnesota Vikings (and all Minnesota sports teams, to be honest), and most every Sunday could be found in front of the TV either cheering on his Vikes or cursing every member of that failure of an organization! His family and friends will miss Mike's caring and generous spirit and his wacky sense of humor. He never failed to make us laugh with his random off-the-wall comments or a well-timed "Ahhh, Ricky!" (Think I Love Lucy).
A memorial will be held at the family home on Monday, June 1st from 4-8. Mike's brother-in-law will be delivering a brief service around 6:00 PM. Anyone who knew and loved Mike is welcome at any time, for as long as you wish to stay.
