Michael Steven Shaffer
Also Known As- Dad, papa, son, brother, Mike, Mikey, uncle Mike, grandpa, hubby, father, and friend.
Mike had a passion for life. His passions varied from camping, hiking, fishing, playing pool, constantly gaining knowledge, teaching the knowledge he learned, classic cars and food.
He was a loving, kind, caring, compassionate, and understanding man. He was also the life of the party. He loved to help others no matter how little he had. He always lived his life to the fullest.
For those who have had the privilege of ever meeting or knowing him, they know he will be dearly missed. He will live on in all our hearts and lives for all the years to come. Cherish every memory ever made and share them as much and as often as possible to continue his legacy and his life.
In our hearts he will live forever!
Poem by Angel Cherwien:
The Mourn Before the Dawn
Mourn
If mourn you must
Not for me, but for your loss
Loss of the sight to see me
I have not left you
In your heart I stay
Within you always
I am your guide helping you on your way
Fear not
For your journey too must end
In heaven is where we will meet again
We will not mourn for we will see
That alone never will we be
In that moment all our senses
God will give
To provide for us the will to live
We will know that our lives will carry on
And begin anew with each rising of the Dawn
