Balfany, Michael D.
"That's Right" is the phrase all will remember Mike the Painter by. He made his last brush stroke Oct. 31, 2014.
Born May 5, 1952. Preceded in death by grandparents, Victor and Ethel Anderson; nephews, Quinn Balfany and Benjamin Pepper. Survived by parents, Loren and Carol Balfany; siblings, Dawn (Joe), Lori (Bruce), Craig (Cindy), Joel (Judy); significant-other, Mary; daughter Alicia; nephews, Lucas, Austin, and Jansen, as well as many great friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Mike grew up in New Brighton and was a 1970 Mounds View high school grad. He served in the Air National Guard and was a very talented custom painter who also had a passion for music, the outdoors, wine, cigars, golfing, and photography.
"Where's Mike?" was often said. As a free spirit, eventually he would appear with a big smile, soft sided cooler with two beers, a bottle of wine, and his freshly roasted coffee beans, which he eagerly shared. He loved life and hanging with his NE buddies.
