Born August 22, 1919 in Grygla, MN the youngest child of Mathias and Albertina Myrold. Merriett will be dearly missed by her many cherished friends and family as she passed away June 1, 2011, at age 91.
She loved being a mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was always ready with a warm greeting and a smile, making friends wherever life took her.
Merriett was preceded in death by parents; husband, Hilton "Buddy"; brothers, Alfred, Marvin, Ornal, Roy; sisters, Hjordis "Jerry", Myrtle, Lillie, Thelma; and grandson, Timothy. Survived by daughter, Sandra (John); granddaughters, Jill, Amy, Mary (Joshua); and great-grandchildren.
Merriett is lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors, all whom are appreciated for the love and support given to Merriett as she in turn lovingly cared for them. Living in her Fridley home, until her recent illness, she remained a proud Norwegian and avid cribbage player.
Merriett was an active member of St. Phillip's Lutheran Church where services will be held in her honor 11am Saturday, June 11 with interment at Hillside Cemetery at 1:30pm. Visitation is Friday, June 10 from 5-7pm at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 HWY 65 NE, Fridley and also one hour prior to service. Flowers or memorials may be given to St. Phillip's Lutheran Church 6180 Hwy 65 NE Fridley, MN 55422.
