Melvin "Mel" married Judy in May of 1958. This was the beginning of four children and 64 beautiful years together. Mel worked hard to provide for his family. He began his carpentry career as a cabinet maker. He was a true craftsman and word spread of his attention to detail and keen eye for perfection. He spent many weekends happily helping family and friends with projects. Mel's family was most important to him. He worked hard to provide for them but always made time at the end of a long day to spend with his children, whether it be tossing a baseball or making chocolate malts. He made everything extra special. Mel loved the outdoors, especially fishing but it didn't matter if he caught a fish or not. He just loved being outside on a beautiful day helping his kids hook worms on their fishing lines. Mel and Judy could cut quite the rug on the dance floor! Put on some "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller and they would clear a dance floor like nobody's business. Mel lived simply and appreciated the little things. He was loving, kind, patient, funny and fun. His laugh was infectious and everyone wanted to be around him. Mel was truly the best husband, dad and grandpa ever in our eyes. He will be missed but know he is at peace and with his beloved wife and son.
