Lucy completed her amazing, loving journey peacefully after suffering a stroke in the embrace of her family. While completing her RN degree at the U of M she met and married the love of her life John Victor Mickman. Lucy was our family's anchor for 91 years through many travails, adventures and growth. She received an advanced degree as a Public Health Nurse and co-founded Anoka County's Family Life Center where she nursed back to mental health hundreds of our community's suffering souls over 30 years.
From the late 1940's through her 90th year she worked in the Mickman Family businesses which continue to flourish with the heart, compassion and joy she led through example for four generations.
Lucy was preceded by her husband John Victor, sons Mark and Jim and daughter Jody. She is survived by sons John Steven and Chris, daughters-in-law Sarai and Wendy, grandchildren Heather, Maegen, John Caleb, Mariah, Alison, Carl Sophia, Emelia and Jason and six healthy happy great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM Thursday, June 8 at St. Williams Church in Fridley. Funeral will commence at 11AM followed by a luncheon and celebration of her life.
