Marilyn Kay (Rossing) Salness passed away peacefully on June 29, 2021, in Andover, Minnesota, after a brief illness.
She was born on June 23, 1943, to Ingvald and Mabel Rossing. She graduated from Fridley High School, in Fridley, Minnesota, and attended college at the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis and UW-Stout in Menomonie.
She married Duane Salness in 1966 in Fridley, Minnesota. They were happily married for over 53 years.
Marilyn's love of her family just barely trumped her love of quilting. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed travelling, being with family, and reading.
She is survived by children Jennifer (Thomas Wichern) of Andover, Minnesota, and Mark (Ling) of St Paul, Minnesota; 7 beloved grandchildren; sister Kristine (Jim Tapper); brother David (Jill Bigelow); and nieces, nephews, and other family. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents Ingvald and Mabel, and brother Jonathan.
Funeral service is being held at St Paul Reformation Lutheran Church, 100 Oxford St N, St Paul, Minnesota, on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Visitation is at 9:30 AM, with public service at 10:30 AM. Masks and state guided social distancing guidelines are required indoors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made for seminary students at St Paul Reformation Lutheran Church.
