M. Holmstrom

June 26, 1918 — March 29, 2013

Matilda Dorothy Holmstrom (Gerber) was born on June 26, 1918 in Cobban, Wisconsin to Gottlieb (George) and Mina Gerber. An army nurse during World War II, Dorothy took great pride in serving her country and continued her nursing career after the army as a private duty nurse specializing in the care of burn patients.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Holmstrom, her brother Karl Gerber and her sister Della Olson and a grandchild, Pam Borofka. She is survived by her three children, Phyllis (Alvin) Borofka, Steven (Pam) Holmstrom, and Harold (Carol) Holmstrom, her nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
