She grew up on her father's farm south of Hankinson ND where she was born. Baptised October 18, 1914 and Confirmed April 13, 1930 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hankinson, North Dakota. Attended rural school, graduating from Hankinson High School. She later moved to Minneapolis in the 1930"s staying with her sister Alice Erickson and working as a nanny and eventually at Honeywell & Donaldsons.
She married John Tracy who preceded her in death on October 24th 1994. She traveled extensively to Florida, Montana, Georgia, Alabama and loved viewing the country and taking road trips on Sundays. She later retired to Fridley, MN enjoying concerts at Como Park with her sister Alice and friend Palmer Hermanson. And most recently resided at Presbyterian Homes in Arden Hills. She had an enduring love of animals, flowers, and all things great and small in God's creation with many experiential anecdotes to share. An avid reader she especially enjoyed autobiographies of the countries famous personalities and a good mystery or romance novel. She loved to carry on animated conversations about her experiences
past and present, loved to people watch, and liked nothing better than to get a good laugh. She loved to write and receive letters and carry on long phone conversations and more often than not it was hard to break a conversation off. She loved her grandchildren and greatly appreciated the time spent with her great grandchildren. She had an enduring love for the country she grew up in & in her hometown, always looking forward to the local hometown newspaper. Her love of friend and family was shown by the numerous cards & letters she sent. She believed in protocol, manners, and traditions and decried the changing norms of society.
