Lisa Langworthy

October 27, 1968 — July 29, 2010

Lisa Langworthy, age 41, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 29, 2010 at Unity Hospital, Fridley, MN, due to complications with her heart and lungs. Lisa was surrounded by her closest family and friends at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary. Lisa is survived by her father, David (Kathy); brothers, Michael (Jill) & Chad (Mary); five nieces, Megan (11), Olivia (9), Kayla (8), Audrey (6) & Anna (4), as well as many other close relatives and friends. Lisa lived at the Nekton-Woodfield Group home in Lexington, MN since August 1993.
Lisa was handicapped from birth and wheel chair bound for the majority of her life. Despite her challenges, Lisa attended school and communicated through sign language; creating many of her own signs to express her feelings. In addition, Lisa worked at Achieve for a portion of her adult life. Lisaa(TM)s favorite things included watching movies a" musicals were always a top choice; watching or attending any sporting event a" from tennis to NASCAR it didna(TM)t matter, but when it came to baseball and Kirby Puckett there was no contest; annual summer vacation road trips with her mom, dad and brothers where she was able to see 45 of the contiguous United States (only missing North Dakota, Washington State and Oregon); swimming a" every family vacation required a hotel with a pool; and an unparalleled love for ice cream - it did not matter what road was being traveled in Minnesota, Lisa knew where every Dairy Queen was located and began signing for ice cream miles before reaching her favorite treat spot. Lisa had a vibrancy that naturally charmed those she interacted with; her wonderful sense of humor created many unforgettable memories. Lisaa(TM)s unexpected death has left a void for many and she will be dearly missed by those who loved her most.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 10 AM at the Church of St. Timothy, 707 - 89th Ave NE, Blaine; visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family preferred (Dave Langworthy).
