She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Maris Grovender; parents, Walter and Alice Nelson; siblings, Wilford Ray Nelson, Willard Kay Nelson, Roger E. Nelson. She will be deeply missed by their children, Suzanne (Roger) Pauluk, Marrielle (Fred) Ogimachi and Kelby (Mary) Grovender. The joys of her life were her grandchildren, Adrian Ogimachi, Tiffany (Jeff) Dose, Kia Grovender, Tristan Grovender and Joshua Grovender; great grandaughters, Ellie Pauline Dose, Hattie Toyoko Dose: great grandson, Liam Maris Dose. Linnea was born in 1934 in South Haven, and lived in the Annandale area and graduated from Annandale High School. Linnea Nelson married Maris in 1952. After several years they moved their family to Minneapolis where she was a longtime receptionist for a chiropractic office. She enjoyed leading adult community education craft courses for several years. Linnea was a part-time and enthusiastic geneologist who travelled to Salt Lake City researching and collaborated with an engaging group of extended family. Maris and Linnea built a house, that she helped design, in 1965 in St. Anthony Village, and lived there until 2018. Gardening and a natural ability to warmly entertain were memorable talents that came easily to her. She and Maris owned the College Inn Hotel in the sixties. Linnea enjoyed traveling and camping, often with children and grandchildren. She was a voracious reader who passed her love for books to her children and grandchildren. Puzzles and games meant time spent with people and Linnea made it interesting. Mom had an empathy that allowed her to meet peoples needs as well as give them the independence they deserved. She lived her life for Jesus and left a legacy of faith for her family. Thank you to the staff at New Perspective Roseville and Allina Hospice. Celebration of Life 11am Saturday, April 27th at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley, MN 55432 with visitation 1 hour before service. In lieu of flowers, Linnea's family would encourage any to make the world a better place and donate to their favorite charity.
