Born September 23, 1930 to Jack and Bernice "Bun" Carsen in Moline, IL. Died May 13, 2011 at the age of 80 in Fridley, MN. He graduated from Moline High School where he excelled in academics and sports and led his basketball team to the state tournament. He graduated from Augustana College where he played basketball and track and was nicknamed "Springs" for his amazing jumping ability. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons of the NBA but chose to attend Augustana Theological Seminary where he became a Lutheran Minister. He graduated with a masters of Divinity which included studies in, Theology, Philosophy and History. He married Sylvia Bengtson in January 1954. They moved to Carlton MN where he served as minister at Bethesda Lutheran Church. His second church was Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, then to St. Mark Lutheran Church in Circle Pines. Once retired, he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports. Preceded in death by his parents, Brother, Richard; nephew, David and beloved granddaughter Olivia. Survived by his wife Sylvia; sons Todd, Brett (Mary), Dane (Kelli), daughter Lori Carsen (Tom), Kelly, and grandsons Christian, Sean, Matthew, Max, Caden. A private family graveside funeral is planned.
