Kathryn Maas

Maas, Kathryn Ray, 93 of Columbia Heights, passed away on Dec. 11, 2015. Kathryn was born on Jan. 12, 1922 to Herb & Helen Brooks in NE Mpls. She married Oliver Maas in 1940 & they raised 5 children in Fridley, MN. She was later employed by Cream of Wheat for 17 years. Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oliver, her daughter, Kathleen (Tom) Kollar, 2 sisters, Margaret Polnaszek and Evelyn Stone, and brother, James Brooks. She is survived by daughters, Mary (Richard) Geisenhoff and Teresa (Rikk) Labere and sons Charles (Angie)Maas and Michael (Vicky) Maas. Kathryn was blessed with 11 grandchildren; Julie, Lisa, Greg, Brad, Alison, Tisha, John, Melissa, Eric, Alex & Aaron. In addition, her life was filled with many great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She enjoyed playing the piano & made friends easily with her winning smile. She was loved & will be missed by many.
