Born May 26, 1951, in Belle Prairie, Minnesota; Kathleen (Kathie) Marie (Knopik) Gifford went home to be with the Lord on the evening of February 11, 2015. She was a kind and loving soul. She had a passion for the Lord and sharing the good news. She was a strong, faithful servant. Kathie was an independent woman, yet loved being around people. She was very social. Her vocations in life (District Manager for Avon and Property Management with several companies) allowed her to use her social skills and establish many relationships, including a number of great friendships. Kathie had a love for life and her family, especially her grandchildren, and friends. She loved dancing, smiling, animals (mainly dogs, but loved the kitties that were brought home). She would help out anyone in any way that she could. She loved being busy with work, family and spending time walking around the lakes in the uptown area of Minneapolis.
She is preceded in death by her father, George Arthur Knopik. She is survived her two daughters, Becky (Brent) Bare and Amy (Shawn) Becker, her three grandchildren, Zachary, Mikayla and Tyler; her mother, Alvina Knopik; brother, George (Cyndie) Knopik, sisters; Debbie (Richard) Nelson, Lori (Mike) Kasella, Kim (Mike) Panek.
A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at JA Wedum Hospice Facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. They gave her extraordinary care. We could not have asked for a better, more peaceful place for her final days. In lieu of flowers, we are asking donations be made in Kathie's memory to JA Wedum so they may continue to offer Compassionate Care Grants to other families.
Kathie will be greatly missed and remembered by many friends and family. A "Celebration of Life" get-together will be held at a later time in the spring.
