Yurkew, Judith E., age 77, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Judie was born on April 15, 1935 in Minneapolis to Lawrence and Myrtle Sundstrom. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Ernie Holst and her husband of 55 years, Myron. Judie loved traveling; her favorite destinations were countries in Central and South America. She particularly enjoyed visiting her friends in Quito, Ecuador. Judie was a long-time member of the Orchid Society of Minnesota and was involved in many aspects of horticulture, including collecting, growing, displaying and judging orchids.

Judie is survived by her sister Janet Matson of Siren, WI; and daughters Susan Yurkew (James Quall) of Los Angeles, California; Linda (Bob) Seibel of Somerset, WI; and Tracy (Jon) Durand of Fridley, MN and her four grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Austin (23), Carley (18), Sam (12) and Natalia (9).

A celebration of Judie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 6180 HWY 65 NE, Fridley, MN. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home 6210 HWY 65 NE, Fridley. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to St. Philip's Lutheran Church.
