Josephine Huhne

Josephine "Jo" Sophia Huhne passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2021 at her home in Mounds View, MN, losing her battle with lung cancer at the age of 85.

Jo was born August 28th, 1935 in Ward Springs located in Todd County MN to parents, Peter & Laura Ritter (Noll).  Wanting to be a teacher all her life, she proudly graduated from St. Cloud State and entered a life-long career in elementary education, primarily at L.O. Jacob Elementary in Anoka-Hennepin School District 11.

In 1957 she moved to Mounds View, MN with her husband, Richard, to start her their family.  Jo lived in their home for the rest  of her life, raising 7 adorable children..  She was very proud of the yard she kept up until shortly before her passing.  She was very proud that she could back a trailer like nobody's business...she even had people ask for training lessons.

Before & after retiring, Jo was involved in softball, bowling, golf, fishing, and cards, including poker, five hundred & cribbage.  A true patriot, she donated several gallons of blood and was actively involved in American Legion Auxiliary Units 513 & 303 where she performed many roles over her 42+ years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents Peter & Laura; siblings Dwayne, Donald (Don), Delroy, Rina, Harvey.

She is survived by her siblings: Monica (Butch), Mary (George); children: Roger, Sharon, Dave, Ron (Debra), Steve (Rosalina), Elaine (Scott), and Frank; grandchildren: Dustin, Tyler, Benjamin, Nadine (Benji), Stephanie (Cetty), Chrystal (Juan), Travis, Cody, Zachary, & Aric;  great grandchildren: Mykaela, Samantha, Angel & Maya.

Jo will be missed by her many friends, colleagues, and family.

Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 4th at the Miller Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5th at St. Timothy's Catholic Church with Visitation at 10:00 a.m. where all of her children were baptized.
