Joseph Zeilbeck

September 1, 1970 — October 7, 2016

Zeilbeck, Joseph Matthew tragically passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the age of 46. He will be so terribly missed by his fiancé and love of 19 years, Jennifer Gilbertson; their children, Thomas Gilbertson South, David Gilbertson, Kaitlyn Zeilbeck, Cassidy Zeilbeck and Joseph Zeilbeck Jr.; grandson Jacob Gilbertson; father, David Zeilbeck; mother, Donna Zeilbeck; brothers, David Bigelow and Michael (Crystal) Zeilbeck; nephews, Devin Bigelow and Aiden Zeilbeck; niece, Alexis Zeilbeck; mother in law, Denise Gilbertson (Greg Biskey); and his beloved pets Jack, Lilly and Squirt.
Joe lived for his family and friends. His passion was making those around him happy at any cost. He raised his family in Fridley, MN. Joe never went far from home in his life having graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1988. He enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends in Colorado and Illinois. He was an employee of Bernick's where he pushed himself to be the best he could be in his job, always striving to excel and be recognized for his efforts. No words will ever describe the love that Joe had for his family and friends. He spent his time trying to show his family all about the things he learned growing up camping, hiking, playing games and being social. His love for his children was endless.
A memorial service will be held for Joe on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Chain of Lakes Church, 10130 Davenport Street NE, Blaine MN 55449, officiated by Joe's dear friend, Pastor Paul Moore. Service will be held at 10AM with a visitation beginning at 9AM.
People are encouraged to stay after the service and share their stories of Joe with his Family and friends so that his children may know what a great legacy he leaves behind. A private service to spread Joe's ashes on the St. Croix River will be held at a later date with immediate family as per Joe's wishes. The St. Croix River was Joe's last big canoe adventure with his beloved fiancé, Jennifer and their dear friends, Gary and Karen McGee. In his own words, "the last place I felt so happy to be."
Joe's family would like to extend an heartfelt "thank you" to those who tried to be there for support in the last month – Renee Zeilbeck, Tamara Paul, Sara Johnson-Lust, Frank and Marilyn Severson and Pastor Paul Moore.
