Joseph J. Mike, age 91, of Roseville, formerly of Fridley, passed away December 25, 2012.
Joe was born on Feb. 12, 1921, in Floodwood, MN, to John and Freida Mike. He graduated from Floodwood High School and joined the US Army, serving for over 3 years in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He married Violet Laine in 1943 and they settled in Floodwood. Joe worked for the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad for over 40 years, eventually moving to Fridley, MN and retiring there.
Joe loved hunting, fishing, gardening and especially spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by son Jerry, granddaughter Jennifer, parents, brother Michael, and sisters Barbara and Annie.
He is beloved by his wife of 69 years Violet; children Carol (Denis), John (Susan), and Cathy (Steven); grandchildren Alan (Kimberly), Thomas (Duana), Melanie (Dean), Sandra (Michael), Jeffrey (Ranya), Sara (Ryan), Lindsay (David), Jessica (Douglas), and Michael (Debra); great grandchildren Taryn, Piper, Zachary, Zoe, Samuel, Elizabeth, Jannah Rae, Calla, Madeline and Julia.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, 11 AM, with visitation one hour prior at the church of St. William, 6120 5th St. NE, Fridley. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
