John (Jack) Lisowski
Jack passed away on Dec 1, 2023 at the age of 93 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born to parents John (Fuzzy) and Siami Lisowski, on August 10, 1930 in Virginia, Minnesota. He was hand-selected from hundreds of applicants and appointed by Senator Hubert Humphrey to attend the Naval Academy in 1951. Jack moved from the Iron Range to Annapolis, Maryland to attend the Naval Academy. He completed his electrical engineering degree at the University of Minnesota.
With a sharp mind for the mechanical, Jack enjoyed a career at Univac and Medtronic. At Medtronic he was awarded with two medical patents contributing to the evolution of heart pacemakers.
He was proud of his Finnish and Polish heritage and loved laughing at Polack and Finn jokes.
Jack’s greatest joy was his family and celebrating birthdays, holidays and achievements with his children and grandchildren.
With his wife, Jack volunteered for decades with Meal on Wheels, delivering nutritious meals to seniors in the Twin Cities.
Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marlys; daughters Gail (Rick) Hill and Beth (fiancé RW Henson) Mitchell; sons John Lisowski and Bruce (Paula) Lisowski; grandchildren Jeremy (fiancé Holly Myers), Jacqueline and Juilet Mitchell.
